About

The stitchers' lifestyle inspired Patchwork & Poppies Haberdashery. We all have our comfort items while sewing, stitching, knitting, or creating in general. A little ceramic dish to catch our threads, our favorite needle minder from a friend that makes us smile, or a unique pair of scissors are all part of the experience. I started making patchwork project bags to hold cross stitch and realized that beautiful and functional storage and tools are all part of the hobby we are so passionate about. I hope that you will enjoy looking around the shop, and I hope that you always find joy in what you are creating and in the tools you are using.

Project Bags by Jenni

Growing up with parents who are both professional artists, we were always instilled with the support of handmade. Our family time was spent at museums and art shows. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to pursue my love of art by obtaining a Fine Art Degree in metalsmithing and Art Education. I have had the privilege of working in some creative field for many years.

A dear friend gave me an overflowing basket of beautiful Lori Holt fabric. I had never had such a variety of patterns at one time. Although I have sewn since I was a little girl, I typically only have what I need for one specific project on hand. When I received this fantastic gift, I first thought of patchwork bags. Of course, the first one I made was for my friend, and things took off from there. I realized how much I loved playing with the layout and designing the kind of bag that I needed. I made mine a little larger and added an inch of depth to hold my projects that required more floss. I made a bag with patchwork on both the front and back.

I have been amazed at the response, and although I have always enjoyed being a jeweler, nothing compares to the friendships I have made with people that I have met through project bags. I think only a stitcher could understand:) I even went to my very first retreat this year because of a special friend I met through project bags! I started first on Etsy and now have a website offering my bags and other cross stitch accessories.

I spend most of my time on my Bag of The Month Club. Throughout the year, I will have ready-to-ship and pre-order bags. The best way to know when these items will be listed is to follow me on Instagram @patchworkandpoppies or sign up for my newsletter on my website, www.patchworkandpoppies.com. ***Important note*** My Etsy shop, JenniStitchingSimply, is still currently live, but after the new year, the patchworkandpoppies.com website will be the only shop.
